Post 15 Sep 4, 2004 ONLINE REUNION GUEST BOOK PRE REGISTRATION
Hello All!
We are getting quite excited with the interest that this gathering is
getting. Currently we could possibly have in excess of 100. We will have
lots of room for more.
It would be a great help, if you would pre-register, by email ahead of time.
That way, you will save valuable time when you arrive, as we can have name
tags prepared. My daughter Loretta (Lori) has agreed to take
pre-registrations.
To help people identify "who you are" we would like to include 3 or 4
generations of your Clipperton Ancestors on each name tag.
Please note there is no deadline to do this but Lori would appreciate the
info as soon as you can get it to her. If you pre register and for some reason
do not make it,
that is not a problem. If you do not pre register, but can come, please do
so.
We want this GATHERING to be as informal as possible. If you can't fill in all
the boxes
just do your best to provide what you can. We are looking forward to meeting all
of you.

Post 14 Aug 30, 2004 REUNION DAY EVENTS SCHEDULE
We are hoping for visitors from at least five descendant lines of Austin and Anne. Several from the William Henry line have expressed plans to be here also. Perhaps from visiting we may get some ideas about how these and still other Clipperton lines could be related. That would be an awesome breakthrough in family history.
Due to a wedding dance at the Centre Sat evening we will be there early Sunday morning September 19 to prepare and set up for our event. Start time is 10 AM but you are welcome to join us earlier as we get ready for our reunion. Please sign the guest book and leave regular and Email address to share with others.
Visit, get acquainted, look at displays of pictures and articles of family lore, browse Genealogy records, area maps and cemetery information. A working model of this web site will be set up for you to explore. A library of Clipperton related books and articles will be there. A Buffalo Bill Cody display will be at one table.
12 noon a light lunch will be provided, an offering basket will be set out. If more money is collected than we spend for food the excess will be put into a fund to place a plaque at the Clipperton Cemetery entrance commemorating Austin and Anne for their community efforts. They not only gave the land for this Cemetery but also provided land for a school and a church.
1 PM or after lunch an Austin look alike contest will be held. It will be interesting to see who in the family of descendents have features that resemble our ancestor Austin. Take a look at this photo of Austin to see if you or any of your family members should enter this fun contest. Another prize will be given to the oldest member of the Clipperton family present and another for the most interesting picture or article put on display. Discussions of the displays and recognition of the many guests. Please bring your pictures and articles to display. Enjoy and respect what is on display. Picture taking time. Hopefully a professional photographer in the family can get smiles from everybody at the same time.
2 PM or later a trip thru the Clipperton Cemetery. At least one of the farms of our ancestors (Austin and Anne) is still in the family and can be visited. Those who are familiar with the Evelyn community will point out it's remaining evidence and help us get a picture of this once thriving place.
Return to the Auction Centre to continue our visiting and looking thru displays.
A Clipperton reunion of this size in our lines has not happened in a long time if ever so enjoy the opportunity to meet your relatives and explore family history and lore. Have a great time at the Clipperton family reunion.
Post 13 Aug 29, 2004 REUNION MESSAGE THREE - Lodging note
Lodging in the London area is plentiful near the airport is close to the Taylor Auction Centre. Austin is staying at a B&B on Dundas St East of London and Larry is staying at Comfort Inn Downtown, London. There are other B&B in the Evelyn area if Austin's is full the owners will gladly refer you to another. A yahoo search of area lodging is HERE giving many more choices. We are arriving several days early to explore the area and see what else we mite find in the family tree. CAUTION- near the airport are a few unusual "lodging" places that mite require closer observation to avoid an uncomfortable experience.
Post 12 July 23, 2004 REUNION MESSAGE TWO
Things are progressing nicely for a very good reunion gathering. First thank you George Taylor for making the Auction Centre available to us for the Clipperton reunion. I understand this Centre is a popular location for wedding receptions and many other neighborhood events. My Great Grandmother Jane E (Taylor) Clipperton was a sister to Georges Great Grandfather Samuel Taylor. My 1992 trip to Canada reconnected me with Clipperton roots and this trip will do more of that plus connect me with my Taylor roots, something I never thought would be possible.
Austin has the ball rolling for lots of quality items of Clipperton interest. He has heard from descendents in the lines of all three sons of Austin and Anne who plan to attend. We expect to be joined by descendents from some of the daughters of Austin and Anne also. Several from the William Henry line in Canada indicate they hope to join us. I will not be surprised if some from the Thomas Henry line of Minnesota or his Canadian family also attend. Now that really makes for a widely participated reunion. The next post will list the days scheduled events, map links and lodging help for anyone spending some additional time in the area. Plans include a light lunch available onsite. Join us Sunday September 19, 2004 at 20903 Purple Hill Road, the Taylor Auction Center.
Contact Email for Austin and Larry with questions, comments or requests.

Post 11 June 25, 2004 REUNION MESSAGE ONE
September 19 is less than three months away so Austin , Margaret and Larry are busy securing the location and scheduling events to make this an interesting and meaningful gathering. I plan to arrive several days early to explore the area. About fifteen years ago a decision was made to find my roots and visited London, Ontario. That trip was done on a whim but was very enjoyable, the highlight was meeting Jenny and Eugene at their home in Thorndale. The Guy Lombardo museum and St. Paul's Anglican Cathedral were two nice places to visit. Little did I know then that Great Grandparents Wm. and Jane (Taylor) Clipperton were married in this Cathedral on July 20, 1849. Bing retired now more time will be spent taking a closer look at the family heritage available in the area and meeting some long lost relatives. Hopefully good information and pictures will be gathered for the web site. Plans and maps will be posted immediately as available. Hope you will join us at London, Ontario September 19.

Looking thru the excel records for Europe draws to my attention several first names that have seemingly unusual spellings. Particularly the names Anfillis ,Augustine, Elizabethia, Fraunces, Guliemus, Phillipus And Ricardus do not seem to represent todays English spellings or common names. Is this representative of the 1600's or does it possibly point to a region or place of origination.
