I currently have about twenty books on Clipperton and adequate details  will be put here. Books and articles about Clipperton are written in several languages and range  from year 1725 to 2000. Some material can be borrowed thru  interlibrary loan programs. University libraries sometimes have them in shelf. The pirate John Clipperton is made reference to in works by or about William Dampier, Will Betagh, George Shelvocke and others. Unfortunately John did not keep ship logs or diaries of his own. The book by Jimmy Skaggs "Clipperton- a history of the island time forgot" is not  kind in comment about John but is a very well researched and authored book chronicling the islands turbulent history and contains extensive reference notes, complete bibliography and several pictures.
